Hello, everyone! To the students, welcome back to another year of Sam’s English Class! I hope everyone is ready to learn and play in English! And to the parents, I am always appreciative of your continued support and will always do my best to make these classes a fun learning space! Please feel free to read through these blog posts to keep up to date with our classes and see how things are going.

こんにちは、みんな！生徒の皆さん、またサムの英語クラスにようこそ！みんなが英語を学び、英語で遊ぶ準備ができていることを願っています。保護者の皆様には、これからも楽しい学びの場となるよう全力を尽くしてまいりますので、今後ともよろしくお願いいたします。これらのブログ投稿を読んで、クラスの最新情報を入手し、状況を確認してください。

The months of April and May were a fantastic start to our 2023 – 2024 classes. It has been great seeing everyone again and seeing a few new faces.

4 月と 5 月は、2023 ～ 2024 年のクラスにとって素晴らしいスタートとなりました。みんなにまた会えて、
新しい顔にも出会えてとても嬉しかったです。

So far, we have only had classes with our middle and oldest students so we have taken this month to review a few basic topics including: names, age, colors shapes, body parts and a few animals). Our youngest students will begin their English classes from June!

これまでのところ、私は年中と年長の園児としか授業を行っていないため、今月は名前、年齢、色の形、体の部分、いくつかの動物など、いくつかの基本的なトピックを復習することにしました。
年少は6月から英語の授業が始まります！

 

The reviews have gone very well and I am pleasantly surprised with how much everyone can remember!

Below are my current general observations of the topics this month.

レビューはとても好評で、みんながどれだけ覚えているかに嬉しい驚きを感じています。
以下は、今月のトピックに関する私の現在の一般的な観察です。

Introductions:（紹介）

Throwing a ball around to each student is always a lot of fun, especially when you have “special” ball like mine! The students did a great job. Most students were able to reply to the question “what is your name” using the full sentence “my name is ________ “. The question about age did confuse a few students, but most students seemed comfortable counting to 10 in English.

各園児にボールを投げるのはいつもとても楽しいです。特に私のような「特別な」ボールを持っている場合はなおさらです。
生徒たちは素晴らしい仕事をしました。ほとんどの生徒は、「あなたの名前は何ですか」という質問に対して、「私の名前は_______です」
という全文を使って答えることができました。年齢に関する質問には何人かの生徒が混乱しましたが、
ほとんどの生徒は英語で 10 まで数えることに抵抗がないようでした。

Colors:（色）

Pointing to different colored objects in the class taught me something: everyone has a great understanding of basic colors! Most students were able to quickly answer the question “what color is this?”. We will review colors in the future, but for now I am happy with everyone’s level.

クラスでさまざまな色の物体を指差して学んだことは、誰もが基本的な色をよく理解しているということです。
ほとんどの生徒は「これは何色ですか?」という質問にすぐに答えることができました。
将来的には色を検討しますが、今のところは皆さんのレベルに満足しています。

Shapes:（形状）

From what I can see, everyone has remembered the names of basic shapes. Square, triangle, circle and heart seem to pose no issues. In the future we will review these again and study some more difficult shapes as well. To practice shapes this month, we play a game called “shape attack”. To do so, we split our classes into two even groups. I say the name of a shape aloud and each ground must work together and make that said shape using their bodies! The first team to do so is the winner!

私が見た限りでは、誰もが基本的な図形の名前を覚えています。四角、三角、丸、ハートは問題ないようです。今後はこれらを再度見直し、
より難しい形状についても検討していきます。
今月は形状の練習として「シェイプアタック」というゲームを行います。
そのために、クラスを 2 つの均等なグループに分割しました。私が形の名前を声に出して言うと、それぞれの地面が協力して、
体を使ってその形を作らなければなりません！最初にそうしたチームが勝者です。

Body parts:（体の部位）

Everyone did their best trying to remember what the names of body parts are. Some were able to remember, but this is a topic we will need to review later on. The song “heads, shoulders, knees and toes” helps students remember, but I would like to see a little improvement here!

みんな、体の部位の名前を一生懸命覚えていました。覚えられた人もいましたが、これは後で復習する必要があるトピックです。 
「頭、肩、膝、つま先」という歌は生徒が覚えるのに役立ちますが、ここを少し改善してほしいと思います。

Animals:（動物）

During our review on animals, we listened to animal sounds through a loud speaker and did our best to say the type of animal! Students were able to guess sheep, monkey, gorilla, dog, cat, cow and pig very well! Later on this year, we will look at some more different type of animals.

動物のおさらいでは、拡声器で動物の鳴き声を聞きながら、動物の種類を一生懸命言いました！
園児たちは羊、猿、ゴリラ、犬、猫、牛、豚をとても上手に当てることができました。今年後半には、さらにいくつかの異なる種類の動物を見ていきます。

 

Overall, I am very happy with everyone! Everyone is behaving well and it has been a lot of fun meeting the classes again!

I look forward to seeing everyone again next month and meeting all the new students!
